The KASS team recently welcomed Georgina Scott, a very friendly intern from Australia. We quizzed Georgina about her time with us and this is what she had to say…
Tell us about your educational background.
I am currently in my final year of a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology Sydney. I will be commencing practical legal training next year on my road to becoming a qualified lawyer within Australia!
What made you choose to do your internship at KASS?
It was a combination of factors for me! Geetha has a great reputation for really investing in, and caring about, the education of her interns. I really wanted to work for someone who would provide me with opportunities to learn, which was exactly what she did! I also thought KASS would allow me to blend together and upskill in both my business and law degree. Finally, I was interested in intellectual property. So, I thought a specialist firm like KASS would really allow me to dive in the deep end of this dynamic area of law.
How has your experience with KASS been?
I have had such a great experience at KASS. The team has been so welcoming and willing to delegate me tasks and train me up in different areas. I’ve also really enjoyed the variety of work I have been able to do. From conducting trademark searches across seven different jurisdictions, compiling search reports for clients, researching topical IP cases and drafting an objection, I have definitely been busy!
Did you have any expectations prior to joining us and have we lived up to those expectations?
I didn’t actually have any expectations! I am quite new to the idea of a remote internship (as I’m sure many people are!) and so didn’t really know what to expect.
What are your passions/interests in life?
One of my greatest passions in life is travelling! So far, my favourite country I have visited has been Botswana. It was a complete out of this world experience and would recommend it to everyone!
